Proverbs Thirty-One: Thirty

A Day in the Life…

    Wyyyy – Oming

    August 12th, 2012

We went for a brief visit to see Great Granddad and Great Grandma Alice!  We road-tripped with my very own momma!

We had an exciting encounter with a deer on the way there, but my steadfast husband was driving and he kept us from danger!  Just some fun swerving…

We got to see Yellowstone and went “real” horseback riding!  My Grandma’s sister has a ranch outside of Montana where we got to visit and ride!  It was SUPER hot that day but we still had a good time!  We also went to Red Lodge to walk around and shop.  Both kids LOVED riding horses and even loved trotting!  Mara didn’t really want to leave once she got comfortable with them!  I don’t think she realized just how big horses are!

Yellowstone was not a super great hit with children…  And it probably didn’t help that it began with a long drive to get there!  M was melting down most of the time and B just didn’t look very impressed.  Maybe again in a few years…  Also, there were barely any animals around – even buffalo!  But then, finally, a bunch of buffalo came walking down the street!

It was nice that Great Granddad’s house is still “kid friendly” – since Grandma Alice has kept all her kid toys!  Including there awesome crawl space made into the “top secret playhouse!”  You open a door in the floor of the laundry room, climb down a ladder, and make your way to a perfect little person play area.  Complete with kitchen, shelves, money, menus, and table!

    We had fun!

    Lovely Ladies.

    April 22nd, 2012

    I love our neighbors!

Seriously!  Debbie, I love that you allow me to crash your yard/house/or whatever, whenever!  Teva, love that you love lunch play dates and are ready to play whenever – and look so stinkin’ good at any time of day – even when pregnant!

Love you ladies!  Feel blessed to have you both in my life!  Here’s to a sunny, fun summer!

May 2010- Our babies were so little!!  Love it!  (That was “the” pool party girls! :)

    Happy Birthday Breyton!

    April 6th, 2012

Well, as of this morning, we now have a 4 year old!  Wow.  That just seems so much bigger than 3!

We had a great little party with his friends.  Played a couple games, played outside in the gorgeous weather, made home made ice cream and blew out candles!  Thanks for everyone that came to make it great for B!  He was excited to have you all here and celebrate his big day!

Afternoon will bring some bike riding (hopefully) on his new bike and a birthday dinner at PF Chang’s (his choice!)!  :)

Now I know a little 1 year old who is excited to turn 2! Whew!

    T Minus 1!

    April 5th, 2012

Well, the day before the big day!  B asked me this afternoon if he could stay up all night and not sleep?  I smiled, but declined  :)

Jon and I are currently cutting fruit (or fingers in Jon’s case), mopping floors, cleaning tables and baking a cake getting ready for the big day!  Who plans a party for 10am??  I will rethink this next time!

Here’s one of my favorite pictures!  (Tomorrow’s is super cute too – well, it HAS to be, right?!)

    a-IMG_2084 E

    Oh, yeah.

What was really cool, was I snapped this picture as one of the balloons was popping!  :)

    Random Silliness…

    April 4th, 2012

So, since we only have 2 days before B’s big day, I don’t have enough time to show and tell more about our “birthday pictures time.”

I am realizing why few people do family photography and choose to do adults instead – {bounce} {bounce} {scoot} {run} {fidget} {frown} {cry}  In a nut shell :)

And Breyton even loves to take pictures and will cooperate fairly well, but, at times, it is definitely a task.  This time we had a hard time looking at the camera!  I had a couple tricks up my sleeve – one being…

“Can you see my eyes Breyton??”

    But, I get this…

    a-IMG_2005 E

(He didn’t see my eyes)  :)

And when they’re just being too silly, and you think you might go crazy cuz they’re not doing anything you ask, just start snapping away and somewhere in there is something silly and fun!

      a-IMG_2015 E  a-IMG_2017

And the funny things they say to make themselves laugh!  Breyton kept saying things about cheeseburgers and thought it was hilarious!

It really was a fun time despite the challenges.  I think he had fun despite mom pushing him to smile for all that time too!

He also reminded me again that Drew Bear’s birthday is April 7th and “Teddy Monkey’s” birthday is April 8th.  I have a lot more planning to do I think!

Yep, this little boy will be 4 in 2 more days!

How time flies!  What happened to my tiny, snuggly, bright eyed baby boy?  He’s been replaced with a loveable, goofy, energetic, smart, bright eyed big boy!

    Mara in February

    March 15th, 2012

Love this girl.  She loves her clips in her hair, refuses to try a headband.  Loves pigtails (piggy’s), cry’s when I get out the hair ties. Loves the color purple, which is also the only color she knows.  Thinks every moving vehicle bigger than a car is a “choo-choo.”  Loves airplanes.  Loves to read; we are still learning her titles of her books.  Can count to three.  Starting to say her “abc’s” but with many random sounds, and yes, some letters in there too.  Getting good at puzzles.  Adores cats.  Or as Grammy just taught her, “kit-ty cats.”  Befriends other family’s babies.  Loves Elmo and Oscar the Grouch.  Cries when the Sight Words video plays.  Serves pretend “pop” a lot.  Loves to be held or in close contact with the one called mom (and sometimes dad).  Cries when we pull into the church parking lot, knowing sunday school is coming.  Does not have any problem getting dirty.  Fruit snacks.  Brats.  “Oh my.”  Starting to dance.  Loves hats.  Lights up when she sees her brother (“bruh-ber”).  Her blankie population has grown to 2.  Can somehow hold a pen/marker perfectly to write.  Has the cutest curls that mom is afraid to cut off.  A gorgeous brown-eyed girl.

    Happy Valentine’s Day!

    February 19th, 2012

B and I had a great week of learning “V is for Valentine” in school!  We did some math and writing but a lot to do with candy hearts, sorting, painting and lots of hearts all over!

Our bible verse was John 3:16 – Our God loves us too!

    MB VDay

We painted “secret message” hearts and had pink heart pancakes for breakfast!  I think that was the hit of the whole day!
